HI All,
I am def a newbe to pool control but I wanted to automate my heater control with the Sonoff th16/10 but I was hoping one of you gentlemen could describe in detail how to do that. I know Sonoff Switch puts out 110v but its my understanding that I need to use the two terminals on the heater control board that are looped (firemans switch?)o. For this to work, I believe I need dry contact relay. I think. Hopefully I am not to far off. Thanks in advance for the help. Maybe I am over thinking it.
thanks

The heater's manual describes how to connect a 2-wire relay to the fireman's switch (Page 30 in my manual). The fireman's switch carries it's own 24 volt power, so you must use a relay with dry contacts.

I was planning on using the TH16 for my heater, but, as a result of your post, I found the Sonoff passes the module's line power to the output side of the switch. Doing some googling, I found there are ways to modify the circuit board to convert the contacts to dry contacts. Probably a bit much for me.

Let me know how you work around this issue.

that is exactly the relay I was looking at.. I am going to buy everything and test it out. its going to take me a while to find the time to bench test all of what I am trying to do. I am also going to do this, which I also found on this site.
Cheap, Simple web-enabled pool automation with Google Assistant Integration
Great stuff. Pulling the trigger on the amazon cart right now.

Will post back when testing is complete.

Hey guys I have one last question for the group.
Everything is working great. (On the bench at least). The Sonoff 4ch is suppling 24 VAC to the actuator constantly in either open or closed position( which changes the actuators to Pool or Spa). I know that's how Sonoff/relay is designed but I don't know if the pool actuator will be ok with that long term. I saw that somebody else on the forum did it this way, so I guess it's ok?

I have four actuators set up the same way. One side is connected to NC the other to NO. The micro switches inside of the actuators shut power down when they reach their limit.

Total pool automation which includes Alexa control for $605....
So finally finished everything up and it works great. Thanks for everyone's help.
I wanted to post this for anyone so they could see my journey which I finally had time to put together.

I did things a little differently instead of controlling the heater with the Fireman's loop I will be using 2 TH16's, one set for Pool temp the other set for Spa temp. Really what these are doing is just being a thermostat used with e-wink app(sonoff) scene logic. Created an automatic scene on each Th16 to look for Temp < than our = then turn the th16 switch on. Nothing is connected to the output of either TH16 Switch.

Then I use the 4ch Sonoff with relays for the pool and heater with 4 Scenes always running. 2 scenes for Pool, On Checks to see if the Th16 Switch set for the pool is turned ON. If so it does all the necessary things --- Activates intake and set valve actuators --> delay-->turns on pool motor-->delay-->then heater. And the second Scene is Pool of which looks for the Pool Th16 switch to be OFF and turns the off pool heater-->delays -->then turns the pump off. Same two scenes for the spa.

Now i can either enable the Pool or spa heater by Alexa by just saying pool or spa on or just turn either TH16 switches on in the APP ( again th16's are not connected to anything). If I want to heat and maintain a certain temperature I use the automatic/thermostat function on the th16's.

FYI my pool heater is set to 103 so it basically the same as now.. if I turn on the pool heater manually I have to make sure I don't leave it on forever, same as today making sure it is not set to spa or leaving it on.

I use the schedule on the 4ch Sonoff for Daily motor/cleaning. I will most likely put schedule a safety scene in for midnight to shut everything down, just in case.

Hope that makes sense
Thanks again for the help everyone's.

If anyone wants to know here is the parts list.

The high voltage stuff is located behind all the equipment and I did not want to move it...
