I've been swimming freestyle for three years now. I've come a long way from those early, clumsy days! Here are a few things I've learned along the way:
Keep Your Head Down: Don't lift your head too much when you breathe. Just turn your head to the side and let your mouth break the surface. Keep your other eye underwater. It's like resting your head on a pillow.
Don't Brake: When you pull your arm forward, keep your hand flat and facing down. Don't bend your wrist up, or you'll slow yourself down.
Use a Nose Clip (At First): A nose clip can be a lifesaver when you're first learning. It lets you focus on your stroke without worrying about water up your nose.
Do you have any other tips? I'm always looking to improve my freestyle.
