Slam - Cloudy water and milky white residue from filter

I've seen several cloudy water posts here, and here's one more 😅

Opened a bit later than I should have - roughly a week ago. This is my first time opening (and closing) a pool, so while closed I only had a large blue tarp over it to collect leaves and left the pump running at low speed all winter (in central Florida).
Pretty much immediately after pulling the tarp off I started Slam'ing, as the water was murky blue I had some decomposing amphibians that had gotten under the tarp.

My measurements are generally good I think:
Before Slam:
PH: 7.2 (this surprised me)
TA: 120
CH: 375
FC: 0 (obviously)
CYA: 0 (a slight surprise, didn't think that would go away while closed)

During Slam (now):
FC: Slam target of 12 right now, I add more chlorine 3-4 times a day
CYA: 30 - added a dose at open and am trying to get it to 45 per poolmath

I'm currently trying to keep calm and slam on, but I've seen little improvement since beginning over a week ago. The water is still 90% opaque, close to 100% after a brushing.
Add to that, I started cleaning my filter daily thinking that maybe it's getting clogged up - my pressure gauge isn't showing an increase, but the GPM on the pump decreases from about 48-50 when clean to 40-41 after a day or so.
I consistently get this ick looking blue-white residue coming off my filter. I'm a bit concerned as to what this might be - if this is dead algae, I suspect I'll be slamming and filtering for a long time. And my chlorine costs are already accumulating 😓

Thanks for any suggestions or guidance! This community has been super helpful for this pool novice!

When I rinse my cartridge, if the rinsate is green, it’s live algae, but if it’s whitish, it’s dead algae. Yours looks kinda similar, more so since you seem to be rinsing after several months. If the algae is dead with no green, you may be past the need for SLAM, just filtering out the dead stuff. It just takes time.

Ha, I appreciate the advice! I suppose I should be glad I don't seem too bad of an active algae issue. I haven't passed the OCLT yet, but it's been only a small amount each morning. Hopefully the pool is clear before summer is over!
