Skimmer box position

Hi. My husband and I have been through the nightmare of setting up an oval above ground pool 8.2x4.5 meters.
We have the waterline where it needs to be and are about to start the skimmer cutout (through the liner) There is already a cutout in the wall for the skimmer.
The problem we are now facing is we didn’t read the instructions properly and the skimmer box is supposed to be positioned on the curve of the last straight… And we have it on the straight near the curve…
What problems are we looking at now as it’s not positioned on the curve?
This has been the most stressful thing we have ever done!! If someone can please let us know asap this would be very very appreciated!!

What pool do you have? A link or a picture will do.
What skimmer (brand & model) do you have?
Is the skimmer curved? If not it shouldn’t be a problem. Otherwise if it is curved (not common) you can just get a regular one & use it instead so long as it has the same dimensions.
Before cutting anything in - let’s confirm that the pool is level & no liner adjustment is needed.
