Maybe silly of me, but I bought a "Skim-A-Round" skimmer basket hoping to increase my flow into the filter. I have a sand filter (emptied and refilled last year professionally) and I keep it very clean back flushing when the pressure changes 2 lbs. I have a pollen and surface debris problem. I just don't think I can get the surface water to change out fast enough. I only have 2 returns , plus 1 main drain and 1 skimmer. I also have a booster pump (1 return) that I don't use because I don't use an automatic cleaner anymore. I have screwed around with the way the "eyeballs" point trying to get the water to flow into the skimmer. It starts out that direction, but turns back before making it into the skimmer. I bought the new basket after watching a video on them. It does make a whirlpool and some noise, but has little or no effect on actual pulling in of debris. I took off the weir door as it didn't do much anyway and it helped a little on debris travel. Maybe I need a bigger pump? I have a ton of trees and garden that produce debris, but really can't change that. I've trimmed the trees back from hanging over the pool, but has little effect when the wind blows. I can watch a leaf put in the water go clockwise from the west side to the east side but before it hits the skimmer it goes south and then west again. Obviously the water is going in the skimmer as I have all but shut down the main drain to increase flow, but I cannot seem to improve my situation. If you read all the way through this, THANK YOU for reading this far and I am willing to try anything to increase the flow into the filter. I do use filter socks in either the pump basket or the regular skimmer basket to catch and hold pollen, and boy does that work well, but there is still a ton of stuff floating around.
