I've been following the TFP method for the last year and a half and my pool is crystal clear with lot less chemicals being used. So happy to have found this site; my dilemma is next month we'll be away from home for three weeks and I need to use chlorine tabs to keep it clear. In the past I have used BioGuard's SilkGuard Tabs, should I use these tabs or Clorox Pool&Spa XtraBlue 3" Chlorinating Tablets? Is one better than the other except the price? Thanks.

Neither are pure trichlor so I would skip both. Try to find 99% pure trichlor tablets.

Do you have someone stopping by to top off your feeder? It is going to be difficult to get tablets to last 3 weeks. If you don't have anyone checking on it then it might be best to just bring things to SLAM level, covering the pool, and being ready to SLAM it when you return home.

Nothing with 'Blue or Blu' in the name! They contain copper - which you can not get rid of without draining and turns hair and fingernails green!!!

I can ask my friend's son to stop by and top off the feeder once. That should do it, I hope! Any suggestion for a 99%Trichlor tablets? which store, brand?

It's available at my local Costco, hmmm... thought they won't carry a product like that! Thought wrong.

They have a few - 3M 1 inch "furnace killer" air filters, some remote controlled LED stick-up lights with awful reviews, and the latest is their sadly redesigned sneakers - I miss the old $13 court classics. The new ones are just awful and fall apart in weeks.

Do 99% trichlor not have stabilizer in them? Newbie question

Yes. Just means that they are all trichlor, not mixed with other additives (metals, or other "helpful" or proprietary chemicals).
