I am trying to get my Hayward Heat Pump model HP21254T into Remote Operation Mode so I can control it with my OmniLogic system. This was working prior to this year, but I think some buttons were pressed on the Heat Pump which took it out of the remote operation mode.

I've been following page 13 of the troubleshooting guide found on Haywards website: https://hayward.com/media/akeneo_co...p_Troubleshooting_Guide__TSG_HTPMPa__c95b.pdf

I do not know how to set the Pool Thermostat to off (I can set the temperature to 61, but i'm not sure if this is "off"). I also am not sure how to set the Heat Pump to spa operation.

The manuals linked from my models website don’t appear to be accurate.

Any help would be appreciated

I suggest you contact Hayward’s Technical Service Department at 908-355-7995

That Troubleshooting Guide does not list your model.

It sounds like the remote relay circuit patches through the Water Pressure Switch.

When the remote is off the heater thinks the WPS is open.

When the heater calls for heat the relay closes and the WPS circuit is complete.

You need to check your OmniLogic configuration and see if the relay is closing using a multimeter.

Or the WPS could be bad.

You use a multimeter to check the WPS and remote relay to see if they are closed.

I backwashed and when I turned on the heat via OmniLogic, the display on the heatpump changed from flo to bo, but the HP/fan never came on. I then turned off the bo mode, set the pool temp to the lowest it would go, set the spa to 104 and left it in spa mode. I turned the heat on via OmniLogic again and it fired right up.

Not sure what’s going on with my setup, but it seems like something isn’t quite right, but it does work. I had never seen bo on the display in the previous years, so I’m sure it has never been set in that mode before.
