Today I asked the pool guy at my swim club a few questions. You might be interested in the answers.

How do you test the water?
Answer: shows me the cheapest tester that goes up to 3ppm



Next question. What Chlorine do you use? Do you use stabilizer?

Answer: only liquid, no stabilizer.

Since the pool gets direct sun for the entire day and they don't use cya I assume they have to add chlorine multiple times a day (I didn't ask)

How often do they change the water?

Good question I don't have the answer to. Since they heat the pool and I haven't noticed extreme swings in water temperature I don't think they change the water. They probably check and add chlorine multiple times a day.

Do they have an auto feeder for the chlorine?

Did someone else setup the water chemistry at the start of the season,eg will he know if a little CYA have been used?
