Hi everyone! We are about to break ground on a new pool and literally can not decide on pool deck/coping. Both my husband and I love white limestone. I’ve tested the samples for staining and everything has been fine after sealing. I’ve read every thread on here but my question is, has anyone tried dip sealing all 6 sides before install? And what is the favorite sealer after a few years that protects from stains and erosion? DuPont? Frankly I’m really nervous that during install the limestone will get stained because it’s so porous, even dirt stains pre sealer. Thanks in advance!

For a sand install, it should not be a problem.

Some decks have a concrete base where the stones are mortared to the concrete base.

The coping will need to be mortared.

So, the coping stones should probably not be sealed on the bottom.

I'm considering Freska limestone as well. What did you decide? What sealer did you go with?

We have freska limestone coping and pavers as well. Haven't installed yet. Did you install yours? seal before or after install? thanks for your reply
They are supposed to be coming tomorrow evening to talk with us about the pavers. We decided to go with a sandblasted marble that is almost pure white. It’s very pretty. I will try to post pictures once they are installed.

Hi, new pool owner here. Great forum!
I'm also looking for suggestion on sealant product for White Limestone coping around the pool & spa (I live in TX).
Want to keep natural look so I'm assuming clear coat sealant. Am planning to visit local Sherwin-William store for suggestion (if they carry any products there).
Appreciate our advice in advance, thanks!
