Sea Klear Algaecide

I have an inground pool. I,just this week, installed a CircuPool salt system. I started it up to day. All of my chemicals are good,per your chemical chart. I have 2 quarts of Sea Klear algaecide. I have used this over some time and has always given good results. The pool company say after I install my system there is no need for shock,algaecide or cl . I know I need to check my chem levels as you recommend. I don't know if the algaecide will damage my cell. I add the algaecide directly to pool water in front of returns. If anyone can give advice about this I very much appreciate it. THANKS

Then you don’t need any other adds.

Algecide is one of the most mislead purchases at the pool store. It’s commonly said to kill algae but it only prevents it. Properly maintaining your chemistry makes it a moot point.

Your SWG will chug along and perform your daily chore of adding FC while you enjoy NOT doing it. Keep tabs on testing to ensure it’s doing what you need and then pet it, tell it that it’s a good boy and walk away until tomorrow.

I have three saltwater pools that in total have been operating for over 20 years... I have never used an algaecide... or bags of pool store shock.. Nothing but a little MA to control pH.

It is just not needed and I see zero reasons to add stuff to my pools that they don't need.

As long as you keep your FC in relation to your CYA, that is all you need to do... See the saltwater section of this chart.. FC/CYA Levels

Copper is the primary ingredient for many algicides, including this one. Here is an article on copper staining in pools, or you can search for copper on here to find many threads on people having copper issues due to algecides.
