15 x 30 above ground pool. After excavating 2 feet, what sand should I go with?

concrete sand $15.95/yrd
medium play sand $18.95/yrd
vollyball fine sand $32.95/yrd

Such a big difference in price between the medium play sand and volleyball sand. Is it worth it? I estimate I will need 5yrds

Washed mason sand should be good enough. The guy who put my pool up used what I'm guessing you would be calling the volleyball sand it's super fine and very soft, its hard to see the individual grains of sand by eye with that stuff. 5 yards is a good amount to have on hand for your size pool. I would go and look at the sand you are buying first. If the mason (concrete) sand is clean and doesn't have visible small stones go with that stuff. Chances are the play sand will be cleaner and more uniform than the concrete sand with less small rock in it. I don't know that I would say its worth the cost of the volley ball sand but I do like the job it did under my liner.

Ask them what common name grade of sand those are, don't want idiot adjective described sand.

I am going with 2 yards of mason sand at $36 a yard and I'm hauling it. At 5 yards have a ready mix truck haul it but find out the price to haul.
