Salt Water system and Pump

Hello, hoping you all can help share some knowledge with me. I purchased INTEX QX2600 Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump & Saltwater Systems with Electrocatalytic Oxidation. I have a 8600 gallon above ground pool. Intex is telling me that I only need to run the pump And the salt water chlorinator for 3 hours each day or night? I live in Texas so HOT right now.

This seems low to me, I see people recommend leaving the pump on 24/7 and I have gotten so many conflicting answers on how long and when the Salt Water System should be turned on.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Your intex will create 8.8FC in 24 hours.

Daily FC demand can be 3-6FC depending on heat, sun swimmers etc. in TX.

I would run it 14 hours a day, that will make 5FC, then adjust from there.

You run your pump according to the needs of your pool, not a manufacturer's recommendation. If you want 24/7, do it.
