Hi,

The sacrificial anode for my pool is installed before my pump (see attached picture). I have been looking around online and it seems most suggest placing the anode AFTER the filter and before the heater. To move it would not be a huge job but I would rather not do it unless there is a really good reason to do so. BTW - the anode is connected to the electrical bonding grid.

Is there any compelling reason to move this other than general best practice?

Thank you.

Hey JRC !! I live back East. I had a salt pool for 8.5 years, a SWG and a heater with no anode. I also lived a mile from a large salt body of water, 5 miles from another and 15 from the Atlantic. So yeah, the air probably had more salt than the pool. Not one spec of corrosion anywhere.

Your equipment was meant for the pool and if you have inferior quality materials on, let’s say, a cheapo pool ladder, they will rust no matter what you do.

Install it wherever you’d like. It’s only there to help you sleep better. Which is fine. I always say it’s much cheaper than going to the DR for sleeping meds.
