I have an 30' round (54" deep) AG pool. I was very successful with the BBB method but I was working from home and had tons of time (thanks 'rona) to kill. This year is different and Im looking to automate bleach feeding. Looking at a Rola-Chem unit or the Econ Stenner unit. Pros/Cons to either? They are dollars apart in cost so thats not an issue. I value the TFP opinion so I thought I would ask here before pulling the trigger. Leaning towards Stenner.

There are many threads on both systems which you can search. I think more favor the Stenner but both can be effective. Also, youtube has good info on the Rola-Chem I have seen. Regardless of which you choose, suggest you bury (or partially bury) the container that will hold the liquid chlorine. Also put a sun shade over it. This will help mitigate the effects of heat that reduces the effectiveness of the LC.

Thanks... Ive searched but no comparison between the two from what I saw but will def check more. My plan is to house the container just under the deck stairs so that it's protected from sun and kids/critters. Going to run the line through our gravel to the inlet...

The thing I like about the Stenner is that you can change the pump volume capacity just by changing the pump tube and part replacement is easy. However, the Rola-Chem is a very capable pump. You won't go wrong with either.

As you said, they are virtually the same cost, so pick the one you like and/or can readily get parts (mostly pump tubes) and go with it.

I installed a Stenner pump and ran it off a timer. Worked great! I had the chlorine in a 15 gallon tank sitting on the ground. It was big enough to hold about 25 days worth in my 12k gallon pool. This was just NE of Columbus Ohio. Never had an issue with the chlorine loosing enough strength to notice.
I choose the Stenner because I feel it is a more robust pump made for industrial applications. I don’t have any experience with the Rola-Chem.
I personally like the Classic Single Head Fixed 10gpd. It’s simple, ON/OFF, without electronics. Can control it with a Woods 50015 outdoor timer. 7 day timer, multiple on/offs daily, down to the minute.
