Replacement pump recommendation for Waterway SMF-115

Hi Everyone,

I have a 12x24 inground pool, about 11,000 gallons. I am using a Hayward S244t sand filter that shows a flowrate of 62 GPM. I have used a Waterway SMF-115 (230 volt) pump since the pool was installed back in 2016. The pump needs to be replaced. The SMF-115 is no longer manufactured. What would you recommend as a similar pump to replace this unit?

Would the Pureline PL1606 be comparable?

The Waterway SMF-115 looks like it is a 2 speed pump. What speed would you run your pump at?

The Pureline PL1606 looks to be a single speed pump.

The SMF-115 was a single speed pump. However, you could wire it at either 115 or 230 volts. Mine was wired for 230 volts.

The Pureline PL1606 looks to be a single speed pump.

Never saw an SMF in 2-speed. Waterway number for that would have been 215.
The 115 is 1.5hp.
If 230v is available, the Pureline PL-1608, a 2-speed pump would be a better option with that filter. Long runs at low speed. Have never seen a Pureline pump in use.
