Hi,
I'm a newbie. This is my first time asking for help but not visiting this great website. I was told that my pool pump needs replacing (it leaks). Current equipment is: Sta-Rite Dyna-Glas .75HP MPRA6D-146L but it has been discontinued.
We have a 16yr old, Roman shaped, fiberglass, in-ground pool.

Pool dimensions are as follows: 13′ x 29′ with a depth range of 3′ to 5’6″ non-diving pool, w/sand filter
Pool Pump Model: MPRA6D-146L
Sand filter: Sta Rite T-200BP-1
Pipes are 1.5" and outer elbow connector is 2"

I don't know what other information that I can provide that would be helpful to the forum, but I will try to answer any questions that are asked. I would appreciate any suggestions for a good replacement for this possibly discontinued pool pump.
I would prefer something of decent quality without having to change the sand filter.

I will attach a photo of the equipment we currently what we have.
Thanks

Do you know where it's leaking?

Now is a great time to switch to a variable speed pump. A Calimar brand VSP will pay for itself easily in the first year, when run at low speed.

No, I do not know exactly where it’s leaking. But I can see the water when standing over it.
It’s a small pool.
What’s the benefit of a variable speed pump vs single speed?
I need a reliable pump but we don’t swim but maybe 1-2 times per summer, so no fancy bells and whistles. I just need to find a pump so that I can finally clean it and close it for the season.

A VSP offers ability to use 1/10th the electrical for similar performance to a single speed pump. Often pays for itself in less than a year. Also considerably less noise, more flexibility, etc.
