Hey all, am looking for a second set of cartridges for my Pentair CCP520 so I can swap them in/out when needed for cleaning. Two questions about the link below….1/ is this a good brand/option for cartridges? And 2/ anyone know the difference between the new and old versions? Is it worth the extra cost for the new version?

Pleatco PCC130-PAK4-EC Pool Filter Cartridge Replacement for Unicel: C-7472-4, Filbur: FC-6475, OEM Part Numbers: 817-0143, 178585, R173578, White Amazon.com

Thanks all!

I have used this vendor and cartridges from them with good success.
Thank you! I will give these a try. Are there any threads you can point me to with good cleaning instructions for these cartridges?

While many have spare sets to rotate, I'm a dissenting opinion that it only takes 30 to 45 mins to clean the cartridges mid season and they're expensive to buy for the sake of having them.

I save my deep cleaning for the end of the season when it doesn't matter they are soaking in a big bucket / garbage can for 24 hours.

I dry them well after and hit the ground running with clean carts in the spring, I hose them down after the falling crud stops, and I'm good to go for the rest of the season. You have a honking filter that doesn't need frequent cleanings.

Towards the bottom of any page is the TFP Wiki and pretty much anything worth knowing is there alphabetically. Go through any that apply to you in your spare time. Then go back and learn about the others too. :)

I only have one set. Clean them once a year. Replaced the original set after 7 years as the end caps started to crack.

Thanks for the recommendation. Replaced unknown age (last owners) Unicel with these last week and filter gauge went from 15 to 8 with system much quieter
