Hi, We need a new SWG. We have an inground 35k gallon with vinyl liner pool.
Our set up is variable speed pump- sand filter- heater- one way valve- SWG- to pool.

Should i get the replacement i60 cell?? Or buy a newer, or diff model.

Thanks for any help

I would get another IC40. They are a little less cost than the new version. Let the new version get some time under its belt while your new IC40 lasts 5+ years.
Check with Marina Pool Spa in Denver Co for a good price.

Donny,

If you original IC40 lasted 6 years, then I'd just buy another one..

That is less than $200 a year for all the chlorine you need..

Thanks,

Jim R.

So I like the Pentair products. I want the 60 size to reduce pump time and help with more chlorine. Wanted to make sure there aren’t newer better tech. The replacement works with existing controller. So getting the cell without the controller seems to save a little money. Or shld I get the whole setup?

You only need the cell.
You said you have a VS pump. You can run it 24 hours per day with little cost. Just be sure to find the minimum rpm for your flow switch.

I've had one of these going on 3 years now, and still working fine. It's a straight drop-in replacement for the I 40. They make an IC60 counterpart for a few hundred more.

So. I need to fix this before work trip. I ordered the I60 from marina pools. They informed me of some considerations, which was stated by members. Thanks for the help! Made decisions easier. Pick of pump equip. Yard is a mess

Appears you have a different pump motor/drive than Pentair. What is it?
Also, how are you removing the power from your SWCG when the pump is not running?

So sorry for my info. Always upgrading stuff.
Pump is 1.5 century, Vgreen. The pump is a Pentair super flow.
Heater is Hayward , heatpro
Plumbing is by me. Tried to eliminate 90s

Upgrading suction to 2” from 3-1.5” pipes from pool.
This will complete my 2” upgrade except for the underground lines.

May attach on exterior of bales, So that’s 2.5” pvc and maybe use 2” to 2.5” Where needed.

Sorry for delay. So it’s a century 1.5, Vgreen model. I have it powered on when pump is on- only. I run pumpfor 9 hrs on 3 speeds about a third each.
1st- Full power,
2nd ?
3rd- just enough so swg is enabled.

My elec was decreased

For my profile I revised and hoping it’s reflected correctly

Great. Curious how you ensuring the power is removed from the SWCG when the pump is not running?
