Copper algaecide I suppose-there has to be a way top remove the copper.First - quit adding it. How are you adding it?
Second, drain. The only way to remove copper is to drain the pool and fill with fresh water.
If you find it, please let us know. We have had TONS of members land here over the years after spending boatloads of money on every magic potion the pool store has. None of them work as advertised for copper.I suppose-there has to be a way top remove the copper.
I currently use strips and go to Leslie for a complete report. I have ordered the TF-pro kit and am waiting for its delivery any day currently. Why is the copper bothering you now. How are you testing your chemistry...
I did not realize copper was hard to remove. I am not top high now but I don't want to go to high either. If you find it, please let us know. *edit. Just checked your history here and your pool is new. One or two bottles of algecide likely weren't enough to have high copper. It is a useless maintenence chemical so there is no need for it if ypur chlorine levels remain where they should be.
You can close the pool without it or use a non copper based algecide when the time comes. It's really counterproductive for the start of the winter. You have to close with half the FC if you use algecide. Then it eats up some of that half leaving you with less algecide and less FC. You are better off closing at SLAM FC in past every scenario. In Feb when you don't have much FC left, it makes more sense to dump in a bottle.
And the pool store doesn't realize half the bottles on their shelf add copper, and half claim to remove it. Or maybe they do realize it. Anywho, check here for approved chemicals anytime a new one arises in your journey. We will keep you free of undesirables.did not realize copper was hard to remove.
Then don’t add any more copper containing products - trichlor & dichlor products that say 3in1, 4in1, or have the word blue in them also contain copper.I did not realize copper was hard to remove. I am not top high now but I don't want to go to high either.

As u replace water through backwashing the copper laden water should be diluted overtime.
Metals testing is the only test we recommend having the pool store do since it’s a little impractical to have your own kit for & not often needed.
What were the copper results?
