Recommendation for pool pump

I have a 15k gallon in ground pool with a Hayward Saltwater Chlorine Generator and Hayward S244T sand filter. No water features and the pump and filter is fairly close to the pool (no lengthy plumbing runs, and I would say fairly low head loss). My existing Hayward 3/4hp single speed pump (110/230V) is starting to fail and I am looking for a replacement pump. I believe my power source is 110V, but would have to verify.

Can you provide a recommendation on a pump? I am thinking of a dual speed pump.

Thank you.

Verify the electrical service, it will make a difference in the recommendations.

If you have 115v, here are some reco's. A VSP will save you a lot of money in electrical costs...I would not install a single or dual speed pump...

The Waterway Defender 1.65 is a good, reasonable priced VSP and has about the most head for a 115v. Make sure you have 12 AWG for 20 amp GFCI or 14 AWG for 15 amp GFCI with this pump.
Hayward Superpump VS 700.
Pentair Superflo VST

If you have 230v, Get the biggest pump you can afford. The bigger pump will move the same water with less electricity...will save even more
Waterway Defender 270
Calimar VSP 3.0
Pentair Intelliflo 3
Hayward Triton VS 950

Thanks much. I verified that I have 115V, but can always have an electric wire for 230V.

Any recommendations on the Pentair Superflo VST versus the Whisperflo VSF? Both are dual voltage but Whisperflo has a TFP of 2.6 vs. the 2.2 of Superflo.

Also seems there is a dual voltage Intelliflo3 that is 1.5HP.

Thoughts?

Any of those pumps will be adequate for your pool.

Get the Superflo VST or Whisperflo VST. The Superflo will drop right in if your Hayward pump is a SuperPump. The Whisperflo will push more water than the Superflo.

I would not get the 1.5HP Intelliflo3 unless you want the IO Board and relays and the app.

Thank you very much AJW22. I appreciate your feedback. This gives me the confidence I need to make a final decision on pool pumps.

Amazon sells the Pentair WhisperFlo VST Variable Speed Pool Pump EC-011533 for under $1600 (including tax and shipping). Is there any reason one should not buy a pump from amazon?

A local pool supply vendor is charging $2400 for the pump. They have informed me that if I purchased the pump from amazon I would not get Pentair's warranty.

Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The EC product codes from Pentair carry a one year warranty with DIY install.

I see no reason to not get that if you are capable of a quality install.

I suggest your Pool Supply Vendor read Pentairs warranty information…
