Hi -
I'm hoping to get a heat pump for an approk 16k gallon (depth 3- 6 ft) pool in Tucson Arizona.
My plan would be to install both a heat pump and automatic cover.
Ideally I would like to have it keep the pool up to a minimum of 80 degrees through November and hopefully also again in End Feb,
Essentially the most extreme weather would be when highs are around 69-70 and lows are in the 40-45 range.
We also have a hot tub, so 80 is a good goal as folks can also warm up in the hot tub if the pool is cool.

Questions - who runs a heat pump in a similar climate?
What are projected costs to purchase and monthly electric bill?
Pool cover recommendations? - This is a house we rent out,so ideally the cover would be automatic or on a reel - the shape is like a L so I'm thinking two reels. Ideally saftety is a factor too.

Is this a realistic scenario?

This question has been asked many times before. See Google search results

I like my pool at 86F and Spa at 100F. 80F is a cold tun, not a hot tub.

I would be very disappointed at a rental where the hot tub could not be heated past 80F.
