I accidentally let the filter run dry for a few hours. It seems to function normally for 10 minutes then water pressure blows the connector pipe off between the sand and the motor. If I backwash, the pipe blows off in a few seconds. What is issue?

Running the pump dry can result in excessive heat in the pump and associated fittings. I suspect one of those fittings from the plumbing and/or pump itself became damaged from the heat. Feel free to share some pics of everything from a couple different angles. Might help.
