Hello,

I must be misunderstanding something in the manuals for the Intelliconnect and Mastertemp.

Gas and electric are connected to the heater, but I haven't finished the water plumbing yet.

The filter pump is designated as "Single speed filter pump" in the Intelliconnect.

I activated the heater mode by pressing relay 1 and relay 2 for 3 seconds until the demand response led lit up orange. While the Intelliconnect is in service mode, the Mastertemp display illuminates and gives me the option to change the pool and spa temp settings.

Once its back in auto, the LCD stays off. I ran the filter pump off of relay 1 (the filter pump relay) to see if it was related to not having the pump relay triggered, but that didn't change anything.

Im not sure what I missed.

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

- water temp sensor is connected in the Intelliconnect but not physically in water.

You are not missing anything.

The heater display is only [powered when the IntelliConnect turns on the heater. When there is no heat the power to the heater is off.

Pool and spa settings on the heater should be set to 104F and left there. Temperature control is set in the IntelliConnect app.

Confirm you have a water sensor installed.

The water temp sensor is installed in the Intelliconnect but its just hanging. I don't have it in the plumbing yet.

I was able to set both pool and spa to 104 in service mode but can't figure out how to confirm full functionality in auto.

You need the water sensor properly installed in the plumbing for the IntelliConnect to do the temperature control.

Thank you. Ill put the sensor in some water and report back. I thought I read somewhere that it didn't matter if it was physically in water as long as it was hooked up.

I should be able to finish my plumbing by the weekend.

To properly control the heater, the water temperature sensor must be installed in the plumbing between the filter and heater.

That is the air temperature sensor that you do not have on the IntelliConnect. The IntelliConnect gets the air temperature from internet weather sources.

Just want to give an update on this.

The Intelliconnect was only seeing 20 watts of power on the pump when it needs to see a minimum of 100.

I removed the pump and heater from the app, re-added them and everything is working correctly now. The Intelliconnect is seeing the correct draw from the pump and is activating the heater.
