just bought a pentair pump and love it. i want to get the easytouch control panel with wifi so i can control it remotely.. do you know if you can control your heater with this? i have to get a new heater so if there is a model that is compatible i will look at that.

control meaning - on/off, temp.

Just about any heater will work with the Easytouch. The Raypak 406A is the heater of choice.

The heater gets controlled via the Fireman's switch with is nothing more than a two wire cable run to the internals of the heater controls.

Scott,

Tell us more about your set-up.. Do you have a Pool with a Spa or just a Pool? Pentair has several versions of the EasyTouch, so it would be best to get the one that fits your needs.

What Pentair pump did you get? Is your pool a saltwater pool or were you planning on making it a saltwater pool?

You will need to add ScreenLogic2 in order to control your pool remotely.

With regards to your heater question... With ScreenLogic, you can sit inside and monitor your Pool/Spa status on your PC, tablet, or phone. You can turn your heater on or off and set the temperature you want all with a couple of icon clicks.

Thanks for posting and good luck with your upgrade.

Thanks Jim. The pump I got was the Pentair 011018 IntelliFlo Variable Speed High Performance Pool Pump, 3 Horsepower. My pool is not saltwater and no plans to convert it to that. I have a pool with a spa - spa is in ground with a wall between them. plumbed to filter either or.
Screenlogic is the wireless setup right? I was looking at the

Scott,

I'm pretty sure that the PSL4 is a pretty low end system and that it lacks some of the things you will want. But I'm not up on this particular model, so let me have a day or so to do some fact checking and I'll let you know what I find.

P/N 522104 is the correct P/N for the ScreenLogic2 bundle that includes the wireless links.

I think I made a mistake. I was actually looking at this one.

For a 400k btu/hr heater, a single stage line should be at least 1-1/4". If it's a first stage at 2 psi, it will work. 1-1/4" does not seem like a big difference from 1" , but it's 56% more cross sectional area.

In any case, make sure that the gas line meets the specifications as per the installation manual and local code.

If the gas line is smaller than the manual requires, the manufacturer might void any warranty and deny any warranty claims.

oy. i think it is maybe 1"? just a guess. i would guess it is about 30' from the meter. current heater is a 250k but it has not run in ~10yrs.

Keep in mind that you have to add in your lengths of the riser as well. It's not just a straight shot between meter and heater.

I have run Raypaks off of 30' 3/4 line in the past with no issues, but your mileage may vary.
