PVC 90 Sweep Elbow Really Needed?

We are about to begin plumbing our pool remodel. 30k gallon kidney shaped. Going with 2" Schedule 40 PVC for both suction and returns.

1 suction from the Skimmer, 1 from a dedicated vacuum line. 3 returns.

My question is, how important is it to use 90 degree sweep elbows instead of regular 90 degree elbows?

Between all my lines I am looking at roughly 20 of them. Regular are $2.70 each and the sweep are roughly $7 each.

Am I doing it right going with the sweeps or just wasting money?

Just look at all the pressure fittings in your household plumbing or "any" pressure pipe application. You will be hard pressed to even find a pressure rated sweep fitting. Sweep fittings are for drainage where you are relying on gravity to move the liquid and solids through the pipe.

If you are going to replumb it all make all the equipment pad plumbing 2"
Run a home run from the skimmer to a 3way valve and then you can run 1.5" for the cleaner line doesn't need 2" unless you want to adapt at pool shell. Run 1.5" for each return and home run them back to valve. Make a manifold there and use valves for each return. Jandy neverlubes are best and you can glue 2" to outside and 1.5 to inside so they make the transition easy and look great. Return eyeballs restrict the flow greatly so 2" is overkill for them on homeruns. Stay away from street elbows or elbows back to back. The only place I always use sweeps is on the equipment pad. I want maximum flow between the intake and return manifolds.
