Push/Pull Valve Broken?

Hi All,

I was backwashing my filter tonight and when I went to place the valve back to filter, the backwash/waste line still pumped out water After I turned the pump back on. I tried opening and closing the valve multiple times. Is this a faulty push pull valve? Something a not too handy person can replace on his own? Any other ideas before I call a pool company?

Thanks!

Is your valve stem all plastic or stainless steel? If all plastic it is most likely bad O rings. If stainless steel, it could be O rings or the "pucks" that have the O rings on them may have lost the "E" clips that hold them in place. If you can remove the stem, a good pool supply would probably be able to fix the problem in the store if they do repairs, even Leslie's.
