Pump won't turn on when set to spa mode

Hi, everything was working fine up until about a week ago, when we noticed that the pump would not turn on when we switched to spa mode. Auto valves move correctly, and the heater turns on, but no pump to circulate the water. Pump works fine in pool mode, but shuts off when we hit the Spa button on the Pentair intellitouch 520138 control panel. Also, if I manually move the valves over to the spa when in pool mode, everything works. It seems like some programming glitch on the intellitouch. Any thoughts?

sounds like you've linked the programming for SPA MODE as SPA=on + HEATER=on + PUMP=OFF...Either run them all independently or all linked to on..

BTW, your heater SHOULD NEVER BE ON UNLESS THE PUMP IS WORKING AND AT A HIGH GPM, usually nothing less than 80% of pump capacity...if you do not have water moving thru heater at a high GPM, goodbye heater...

C,

You have to tell the pump what speed you want to run in each mode... I assume you have the IntelliFlo and that you have ScreenLogic...

If you look under IntelliFlo tab you should see something like the following...

dbtgallery.php

I don't have a Spa, but if I did, it would have another line that said.. "SPA and 3000 rpm" or whatever speed I wanted the Spa to run.

Thanks,

Jim R.

C,

That just does not sound correct to me.. Something is not right...

Tell us more... What Spa button are you pushing? what kind of pump do you have? Do you, or do you not, have ScreenLogic?

Jim R.
