Proper tool to remove unitherm governor cap? (Raypak heater)

I am sure I can find something in the garage to get the job done, but wondering if anyone can tell me the name of the proper tool for removing this?

Anything that will sit down in 2 of the notches at the same time. I shouldn't be on there too tight. Only tight enough to seat the o-ring. Once its loose it should come out easy by hand.

Yeah right! I've seen customers try to use a long screwdriver and they end up breaking one of those notches off.

And it is screwed in there pretty tight.

Thanks again guys. I was hesitant to use a channel lock wrench or similar for fear of breaking the piece but I'll go that route or maybe just a thicker putty knife.

I am getting a high limit 2 fault error message after just a few hours of the heater running. The filter has been freshly cleaned and water flow is really strong so not an issue with that. Figured my next step is just to see if there is anything to see on the unitherm governor. I'll report back.
