pool water clear. Looks like liner stained green

This is my first post so please bear with me. I love the web site and pool calculator.

I opened my pool this season and everything looked great. Chemicals were good also. I bought a used cartridge filter and that is the second change from last season. After a couple days of running filter the liner looks like it is green so the pool looks like it has a green tint. prior to turning green I added a cheep algacide. I have scrubbed the liner and the color will not come out. The liner is not slippery at all. I had the water tested and it is perfect. I am looking for some help. never had this issue before. I did use a new winterizing kit to close pool in the fall.

Was there copper in that algaecide? Are you on a well? It could be iron or copper staining. More here, Pool School - Pool Stains

I have city water. I will check to see if algaecide has copper in it. I see other post about using Vit C tablet. I will try that also and update this post.

The chemicals still look great and green tint still there. I tried the Vit C trick and it took off the green tint. So now how do I fix the pool? Do I purchase a big container of Vit C? I read the ingredients in the algicide and I do Not see copper. Maybe it was the new (used) filter had copper in it. The filter cartridge was green tint and I could not hose it off.
