Hey, all.

We are in the early stages of getting quotes to have our white plaster pool refinished and retiled. The pool refinishing companies we are getting quotes from use a variety of products and each swear by what they use and have differing opinions on the different product options. We have only received 1 quote out of 5 so far, but I need to know if there are any inherent differences/advantages to any of these lines of products (cement and aggregate) companies listed below.
  • NPT's Stonescapes and similar lines
  • Wet Edge
  • Universal Cement ("Finest Finish Blends")
Colors we're leaning towards include Stonescapes Mini Pebble in White; Wet Edge Signature Matrix in Crystal Blue or Gulf White; or Universal Blends Mini Pebble in White, so if you have any reviews/pictures of those products, I'd welcome those as well. I think right now our preference for style/finish/color is to go for a rather mono-chromatic light/white mini pebble finish. We prefer a light pool bottom because we don't want a gray concrete look, green toned water, or a dark pool. We are in north Texas.

Thanks in advance for your help.

In my area I see Universal Cement more than any other brand.
Are you looking for a straight white color without any exposed aggregate?View attachment 584402View attachment 584403
I am looking for a white mini pebble look, not straight white plaster.

Do customers seem happy with Universal Cements products? I know they're used a lot in commercial pools, but one company we're considering using them for their residential jobs. Still waiting on their quote though.

That is the only product my plaster contractor uses and has been for years on residential projects.
Keep in mind that even though the product is used in thousands of pools, it’s the application process that makes the final product good or bad.
Choosing the right application company takes an investment in time by viewing previous jobs and asking questions.
