Hello everyone, I am helping to take care of my father in laws pool who sadly passed away earlier this year. We are having an issue with stains on the liner. I thought they might have been iron stains, so we tried some ascorbic acid but it didn't seem to have any real effect. Didn't make anything worse or darker so I don't think it's copper? I will attach some photos and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I would greatly appreciate it. My father in law was a big time advocate for TFP though he didn't post all but once. I know he was always using this site to help if he had issues but he had this down to a science so I'm trying to make sure we keep it looking as best as possible! Thank you very much!

It looks like you have visible algae. If so, follow the SLAM process to clear the pool first. Link-->SLAM Process

They are likely organic staining...here is our stain guide.

Glad its looking better.
Not sure what you mean by “shock treatment” but be sure to follow the
SLAM Process instructions to completion to be sure you eradicate any algae & prove that its gone.
We recommend using liquid chlorine for slam.
