Pool Shock Bags-What to do with old ones?

I love this site !!!!! I have been using the BBB method on my pool for about 4 years now and it has made pool maintenance so much easier. I watched my neighbors open their pools this year to green swamps. Granted it can be tiresome to make those trips to the store for my weekly bleach supply but in the end it's worth it.

I have a whole container of older granular pool shock. I need to raise my CYA a bit and would hate to waste these. Would it be ok to use to slowly raise my CYA or should I just throw them out. I would be very careful in watching my CYA with my Taylor K-2006 :)

Pat,

Yes, you can use your old shock to increase your CYA...

The key to the TFP process is understanding what will happen when adding any chemicals to your pool. You can add whatever you want as long as you know what impact it will have on your pool.

Thanks for posting,

Jim R.
