Pool light depth

Hi-

We are installing our 3 colorlogic led pool lights in our rectangle 24x44 pool and water goes to 8 deep. What is the standard or optimal depth/height that lights need to be installed at? We have seen a range.

I don't know about an industry standard, but in our 16 x 40 FG pool, our three LED lights (3 inch size) are about 16 inches down from the top edge of the shell. Pool depth from about 3.5 ft to 7 ft.

There is no standard for lights. The center of my lights are 34" from the top of the coping.

The lights usually have a minimum depth on the installation instructions. This appears to be 18" below the water level.
