Polaris 280 - Wheels Don’t Spin

I’m having trouble with my Polaris 280, it sits relatively stationary and the wheels don’t appear to be moving. It’s ~1.5yrs old. I disassembled the top piece, and water appears to be able to shoot out of pretty much everywhere fine (pic attached), although the stream to the turbine gear thing appears a little weak, not sure how strong that should be. I disconnected and blew through the hose running to the turbine and it didn’t appear to be obstructed. Any thoughts on next steps to check?

The turbine turns a gear connected to the wheel gear. Ensure those gears are engaged and the gears on both the turbine and wheel are not worn. Then check that little tension wheel between the two big wheels. Ensure it is touching the tires. Then check that the tires are not gummy and have good traction.

Be sure the front and side wheel are not slid completely tight against the drive axle. The teeth should mesh only about half way or the cleaner won't move.

Hi there. I just posted an article about my wheel experience. Maybe it might give you some other information from which to assess yours.

Title of post:

Tip for evaluating wheels that are stuck on Polaris 380

Another thought. The video that I posted has information for adjusting the tightness of the belts when it’s getting put back together. You might consider watching it and fast forwarding to that part of the video. It’ll show you the two little brackets, one for each wheel that you need to tighten the 2 screws so that it pushes the brackets out and makes the belts more taught.
