Hi fella, brand new pool owner and first post. Can someone please assist me in labelling my pipes? For cntext ~ 15,000 in ground has (1) 2 Skimmer inlets (2) Main Drain (3) 1 large outlet for my polaris cleaner (4) I have a blower, small heated (not working) hot tub. Here is the picture for reference.
Also can i OPEN and CLOSE the valves while the pump is on? To test what is what?
TIA

It looks like you have a Multiport for a Quad DE filter?

Is your filter FNS Plus or Quad DE?

You have reference pictures so things can be put back. Move a valve, turn on the pump, find out what happens, mark it, return to the original set up, repeat with another valve, mark it, etc. You will become familiar with the system and find out which pipe goes where.
Right now it looks like the first valve in front of the pump is point to the pool suction (9 o'clock position, as it should in "pool" operation), the last valve in the far right is the return and slightly open to the spa (11 o'clock or so) so that it gets fresh water and will overflow (as you want it to) during pool operation.
If you turn the handles on both those valves to the 3 o'clock position (facing the equipment) you will have turned "on" the spa and all suction and return will be there only. The handle will (should) only swing across the pipe coming into the valve at the T, never swing away from the equipment.
