Plugs that came with filter question

Hello all. so I got my daughter a 12x30 intex above ground pool. I noticed the filter came with these black plugs and I'm just curious as to how and when I am supposed to use these? Are they to stop water in the filter when its not running? We literally just filled the pool yesterday and turned the filter on this morning so any help would be appreciated. :p

Hello and welcome to the forum! Someone else can confirm, but I believe you use those in your water inlet/outlet locations to close-off water flow when you are working on the pump/filter. If you open the filter with the lines open, water will keep flowing out of those hose lines. Those plugs help to prevent that. If I missed the mark on that one, I'll get poked, whipped, and TFP spanked. :poke: :whip:

Have a nice weekend. :swim:

Pat is correct, they are little 'stoppers' that you put into the wall fittings to stop the flow of water when you clean or replace your filter cartridge.

Thank you guys! Feel so silly to ask! That actually makes great sense! For some reason I thought they were to be used when I shut the filter off, geez.. cant wait till I'm a little more pool knowledgeable!! Thanks you guys!!!! Silly question, but that was a big help! :)
