I’m a bit confused about these 2 things. I read in people’s recommendations about changing your salt output to a certain ppm but the only setting I see for my IC40 is a percentage. Does mine have a ppm setting that I haven’t found on the app that I really need to check? Or is that for a different system?

If you have your IC40 running on 100% for 24 hours, then it will increase the FC in your 17000 gal pool by 9.9ppm. If you set your IC40 e.g. to 40%, then it will increase FC only by 40% of 9.9ppm, i.e. about 3.9ppm.

You can calculate all of that easily with the "Effects of Adding" in PoolMath.

Nikilyn,

Just to make sure that we are both on the same page...

Your Saltwater Chlorine Generator (SWCG) makes chlorine gas. The Output % tells the SWCG how much gas to make per hour. The SWCG does not make salt... It just uses the salt in the water and a little electricity to make the chlorine gas.

If your FC is too low, you should increase your IC40's output % so that it makes more chlorine gas. If your FC is too high you should decrease the output %.

It is up to you to test your FC, and then tell the IC40 what to do..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Yes, I worded that wrong. Should have said SWG output.
