Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is the correct forum location. The iOS Pentair app (ScreenLogic Connect) updated today from v7.5 to v7.6 and now it does not connect to the panel (app just says "Waiting for WiFi"). Thankfully we have a 2nd iPhone in the house that hasn't updated the app and it connects just fine.

This app hasn't been updated in ages so I was hopeful Pentair may have actually added some improvements. I guess I was wrong.

Anyone else experience this?

Thanks,
Tony

Thanks for the update - good to know it isn't must me! I did the support ticket by their website. Hopefully we will all get an answer soon.

And Happy 4th to you as well!

Just as an update for those having the non-working iOS app. I'm able to access ScreenLogic from Windows (I believe there is a Mac version as well). Pentair.com has it on their software-downloads page v7.38.

Again - I'm beyond amazed that Pentair so poorly supports their software.

I have the same problem if doing the local connect. I can use the remote connect through the app with no problem. I haven’t tested any functionality yet though.

One more update - still no word back from Pentair. The funny thing is if you go on the iOS App Store and check out ScreenLogic Connect, the reviews in the past 2 days are all 1 out of 5 stars and lamenting how the update broke the ability of the app to communicate. I truly hope Pentair fixes this but I'm not holding my breath.

I have the same issue. My iPhone updated Screenlogic app to latest version. Now local connect says "waiting on wifi". I can connect with remote access still. My wife's iPhone has not updated the ScreenLogic app yet and works normally on local setting.

Kind of frustrated that Pentair hasn't updated the app or controller in like 3 years and decides to push out a random update that breaks local access.

Pentair's response today:

"We apologize for the issue affecting local connections. We are actively working on a solution. In the meantime, please try connecting using the Remote option, if possible.
We will provide you with an update soon. Thank you for your patience.

Thanks!"

Seeing how infrequently Pentair updated the app and software really doesn't give me confidence in Pentair’s network security. I think it's been at least 5 years with no update to the iOS app and the desktop app is pretty old too. As a result, I never felt comfortable exposing pool equipment to the internet trusting Pentair to secure things (using the Remote option). If it was just a IoT set of light bulbs or a smart TV maybe not as big of a deal. But access to pool pumps, gas heater, etc? - using the local option felt like the safest thing to do. In any case, I hope they do provide an update soon.

The software is actually ancient too - also like the iOS app - 5 years with no update.

Yeah, one of those was me. Tried resetting the protocol adapter (3 quick presses of the reset switch) which is what usually gets me back online, but not this time. I can connect using remote, using the PC app, and using the CONFIG tool, but not using local on the CONNECT app on iPhone or iPad.

Nice. Those reviews are fantastic. I added one too. Hopefully they can get it fixed. I'm not sure how to selectively keep one app from updating on an iPhone. I think the app updates are all or nothing - on my wife's phone I have updating disabled for the moment so I still can use the v7.5 version.

I updated this morning and can confirm I can access equipment like before from my iPhone. Very happy that they corrected the issue with this update.

Glad to hear it. We’re out of town so haven’t been able to check it out. Also concerned that they might have broken remote mode, so I wouldn’t be able to check the pool while we’re away.

I can report that remote mode works when away from home network.

I'm glad I found this thread - i've been troubleshooting this off and on for a few days thinking I had a new issue and rebooting everything didn't help.
I did see the upgrade to 7.7 in my Apple Store and upgraded, but it's still "Waiting for WIFI" indefinitely. Anyone else still stuck?

v7.7 fixed the issue for me. You may have tried this already, but I would fully restart all your gear that is in play - Pentair panel, router, and even your phone.

I get this “waiting for WiFi” every once in awhile. Turned out to be when I was using my VPN. I think the recent update would did that. With this update I must press the connect button. In the past it would automatically connect.
