You can replace that temp sensor for about $15.00:

A better use of your money, if there is nothing else wrong with the heater, would be to replace the main gas valve. A valve that corroded should not be in service.

I replaced the Tprobe sensor. Same issue. I have to jiggle the connector with my fingers until the ignition kicks in. It takes a minute to find the right angle to hold the Tprobe connector in place to ignite the flame.

What would be your next step, Circuit board?

btw, i am replacing the main gas valve as well.

How are your soldering skills? May be broken connection on the back of the board.

So, it was the thermistor probe. the aftermarket product didn't work. I re-purchased a Pentair Thermistor probe and it worked. Thanks for the help!
