Hello all.
We own a vacation rental with a pool and spa near Joshua tree, CA where propane is very expensive. We have both a pentair mastertemp 400 propane heater and an electric ultratemp 140k. We allow guests to turn on the spa using a wired spa side remote. Does anyone know if there is a way to heat to temp using the propane heater and then maintain with a heat pump? The heat pump will take 4 hours to heat the hot tub to temp, where the propane heater only takes 45 minutes or so. Ideally, both the pool and spa would be heated to temp using the propane heat, then maintained using the heat pump. If you choose "heat pump preferred" it seems to just take hours. Any help or thoughts appreciated!
