Hello, I'm new to the forum and have a question. I just installed a Pentair Intelliflo VS-3050 and a Pentair Clean & Clear 520 cartridge filter. I have a 20x40 inground that is 35K gallons. I have the pump scheduled and it runs great. However, it pulls very week from my skimmer when I have the valve set on drain and skimmer. If I move the valve to just skimmer, it throw a code to "Clear the drain", which I've seen on here several times. All my lines are clear (I can prime off just the skimmer and it pulls in tons of water) or if I switch to just drain, it does the same thing. I can obviously run the pump on both, but how do I vacuum? I used to switch to just skimmer to get maximum suction, but I can't with tripping the code. Suggestions? Thx

Did you buy a pump with the SVRS feature on purpose? If not, maybe consider returning it in exchange for a non-SVRS pump. Otherwise, this will be an ongoing issue for the life of the pump.

They have a non-SVRS model of the VS-3050 as well, but if it is SVRS, it will be hated. I have one in my side yard that I took off a residential pool at least ten years ago for the same issue Bjordan44 is experiencing. The lady asked why the installer chose that pump. When she told me she paid $2300.00 (ten years ago+) I told her that was why. If there is a long suction run or 1.5" plumbing, or both, those problems will never go away with that pump.
Have been keeping it for parts, but will end up just tossing it. Even on commercial pools, which is what they were designed for, they are nothing but problems if not set up very carefully.
