So I finally got all my equipment wired up how I like it, and figured I would take a crack at the setup and programming. Thanks for all the amazing info from @MyAZPool which I read through before I even began.
NOW... I am sure I am not the only one to realize these Pentair apps leave much to be desired!!
I started off at the panel and while its not as intuitive as I would hope, I got through the initial setup fairly painlessly. I hardwired to ethernet and thus possibly avoided some of the potential headaches associated with setting up the Wi-Fi.
I then moved to the web portal to continue programming and found the app to be slow to respond, often times freezing up and leaving me to wonder if my last command was even acknowledged. A few times after a few too many pauses I tried to switch to the mobile (iphone) app to keep programming and found that totally useless!!Many times the app would just crash as I was trying to create groups and pump functions. The app seems to work well for operating the pool, but for programmingI found it awful!
let me also talk about the manual. I felt like the manual jumped around too much as I was reading through the topics. I think they could have done a better job and could easily copy some of the posts users here have shared for better results.
Finally the ALEXA skill... WHY THE HECK DO WE HAVE TO SAY “Ask Pentair Chat” Why cant we just say “Ask Pentair” Who writes these programs???
