Hello- I'm facing an issue with a pool and wanted your opinion. The filter pump light (EasyTouch Panel) is flashing red. The pump starts, but then stops... it starts again and stops after a few seconds.... this keeps going on non-stop. Any ideas on what is going on? Could it be the filter? Maybe something is clogging the system. Could it be electric? Thoughts?
Thanks

Welcome to TFP.

I will tell you it is not the filter or something clogging the system as the Easy Touch panel knows nothing about how the system is actually running.

Do you have a spa control panel?

What control panels other then the main outdoor panel do you have on your system?

Thanks for the help.
This is what I have. The EasyTouch Panel controlling the system. We have a Pentair IntelliFlo Variable Speed High Performance Pool Pump, Pentair IntelliChem and a gas heater. I'm attaching a few pictures for reference. I found a leak at a connection so maybe that could be causing loss of pressure and the pump is turning off... IDK.

1981,

Put the system in the Service mode.. Wait about a minute and then use your pump's display to find the F/W version in your pump.

I assume it is a IntelliFlo VSF..

If it is 3.03 or 3.04, you need Pentair to come and update the F/W.

The other thing you can do is when in AUTO, go look at the pump and see if it shows "Display not active" Does this come and go or does it always show Display not active.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Hey all. Thanks so much for your help! The pump display shows "Display not active". I can't even use the buttons. I will check the F/W later. But you may be right. I cleaned the filter, fixed the intellichem leak, and checked all the valves. I no longer think the system is clogged. I was wondering if this is a panel issue because the panel is going nuts... it is even hard to describe... I turn it on and it keeps turning on and off the filter pump, aux 1, 2, and 3. I can hear the relays going on and off. Not all simultaneously, but sometimes aux 2, then 3, then the pump (right now, I only have filter pump, aux 1 are my lights, aux 2 and 3 are empty - no function). At one point, it stayed stable, but it was bringing up and down the heater set temperature. If I set using the app (screenlogic) at 100F, it would then change to 60, then 104, then 50, then 40... So I ran the self-test and got Code 4 error (Switch - buttons). So I'm wondering if the buttons on the panel are malfunctioning and causing the issue. In other words, giving new commands to the system... but almost every second.
