My pool and equipment are about 5.5 years old. Recently my Pentair SWG IC-40 lights went out and I was told the cell is no longer good. Tried to replace the fuse, it keeps popping. The cell is around $1200 so I have just been using chlorine. I also have a Paramount 02 generator. My problem is I was getting a lot of air in my filter tank. I would go every morning and let out 5-10 seconds of air after the pump had gone off the day before and started up. The air would stay out until it turned on and off and I thought I had finally fixed that problem until I cleaned my filter on Monday evening. I took the lid off, hosed down the filter and closed everything back up. It was dark and I only did that. I did not clean or even open the pump pot. Now, the filter is full of air 15-20 seconds worth and if I go back in 30mins+ it is full again. There are no air bubbles coming out into the pool, the pump pot is full of water, no air. Everything seems normal, no water dripping anywhere. I opened it back up and put more magic lube around the oring. I've retaped (or whatever you call it) the pressure valve and air release.

Welcome to TFP.

You say:

What problem is this "air" in your filter causing?

A CC150 is one of the smallest cartridge filters you can have. Florida pool builders seem to like installing small filters. We recommend a large cartridge filter but that is not what we see often in FL pools.

What model pump do you have?
