Just replaced the lower bulkhead outlet in my TR100 sand filter. The original separated in a strang place, but okay. I shut down the pool every year for winter, draining and blowing out all plumbing. Gizmos in skimmer all parts stored together indoors. Noticed a significan leak last year prior to closing and wanted to change the sand anyway. Preasures the same as always and stable. Backwashed new dand and started up as usual two days later I have a leak. The new part appeart to be separatinh exactly where the old one did. Any thoughts or recommendation fof a better 154714-Bulkhead-Replacement please share!

Can I say it's because the pipes don't look like they are aligned with the ports on the tank?

The picture of the separated bulkhead seams like the plastic is pretty crumbled and brittle. Is that the original or your replacement part? Those bulkheads are pretty stout. Maybe you just got a bad one??
