Hi, I know painting a gunite pool is a bad idea :) So, we splurged and replastered with Wet Edge Satin Matrix Midnight Sea last year. But, I am kicking myself for not requesting they replaster the waterfall too. Not sure if that would have been an option anyways, since the pb never mentioned it. But, since the waterfall is very light gray, it looks kinda strange. Not a huge deal, but I think it bugs me throughout the summer. So, I'd like to paint the waterfall surface a dark gray or dark blue to match the pool surface better. If it turns out I have to do this every few years, I'm OK with that. We generally empty the waterfall out every opening anyways.

Seems there are 4 general options:
- Waterborne Swimming Pool Paint
- Rubber-Based Swimming Pool Paint
- Chlorinated Rubber Swimming Pool Paint
- Epoxy Pool Paint

1. any suggestions on which will be the best/longest lasting?
2. anyone with experience having a store (like HD/Lowes) darken the pool paint? all the standard colors are much lighter than our surface. Ideally, I'd like dark gray.

Thanks!!
Patty

What about cement stain? Painting seems sort of cheesy.... out of place? Stain might like more realistic.

thanks Maddie - didn't even realize cement stain was a thing :) but should i be concerned with any safety precautions/testing for pool paint that maybe cement stain doesn't follow?
