Painting over ceramic tiles

My wife isn't fund of this 4~5 inch mosaic tiles over the line of water.
She suggested to paint over them...
Has anyone done this before ?

Depending, but the chances are excellent it will not stick. Even if it sticks for a couple of months, I think it's still gonna' come off.

I don't know of any post on this forum that has reported that has been done with success.
