I recently got a bit of black oil based paint on the side walls of my vinyl intex above ground pool. It's being stubborn to get off. Now I'm wondering, could I just paint the entire pool black and not damage the material? Could help with heating the water a bit...

I know many products that can lift oil-based paint, but I think they'd all attack the vinyl, too. I think your best bet is to get more paint and create a mural to hide the splotches.
I don't know for sure, but I doubt it would hurt the outside any. Call Intex Customer Support and ask them.
