Owner Build Goodyear, AZ

Hello All-

I finally took the plunge and purchased pool plans to hopefully begin my owner build pool beginning in a couple weeks. I'm looking for input on overall design, size, equipment selection. I've been researching a lot but would like second opinions before I start on the next phase of structural engineering and then getting bids from the subs.

Pool Specifications:
Dimensions: 22'x34'x12'8"
Depths: 4'x5'x7'
Surface Area: 540 SF
Perimeter: 115'
Interior Area: 1,153 SF
Volume: 21,408

Equipment:
Paramount PV3 in-floor cleaning
Paramount MDXR3 drain
Paramount EDC Canister (is this worth the money or should I just go with DDC)
Paramount Paraskim V
Paramount Ultra Clear (is Ozone and UV really worth the costs. Are there true benefits to it or just a marketing ploy?)
Pentair Easy Touch
Pentair Clean and Clear
Pentair Intelliflo 2 VST

Is there any other equipment you would recommend or suggest to swap out with what I have listed above?

Hello and welcome to TFP! Congrats on the new pool project.

You won't need this. Your AZ sun will definitely supply all the free oxidation you need, and chlorine is all that's needed for sanitation. In-floor cleaning? Well, some people like it, others find it a mess later that only invites plumbing problems. Me personally, I would ditch that as well and use the money saved to get a good robotic cleaner like a Dolphin or something. I don't see anything about chlorination - manual, liquid dispenser, or SWG (Salt Water Generator)? Either is fine, just wanted to ensure it was mentioned. So many choices with a new pool. I'm sure others will have ideas as well. Great to have you with us.

I like the design you have so far. It looks like it fits right with your house. I would LOVE to see pics of where it will go in real life.

I don't know much about the Paramount EDC Canister or DDC. It is a good idea to catch stuff before it goes to the pump basket just in case it gets through.

I agree with the UV going bye-bye.
