Organic Stain - Vinyl Liner

Hello All,

I have organic stains in my pool and have tried many different things to get rid of them with no luck. I have a vinyl liner and all the stains are on the bottom of the pool. Any thoughts on how to remove the stains?

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff, you could hire a scuba diver friend (maybe, for a 6 pack!) to go down to the bottom and hold a puck on them for a while :wave:lol

In all seriousness, do you have a picture of the stains? How did you determine they were organic versus something else? Are there a lot or just a few? What are some things you've tried?

No kidding I had thought about that. I honestly don't really know they organic, it is more of a guess and based on the location of the stains in the pool. That area is closest to a maple tree that drops lots of leaves. I am attaching pictures. I have tried to shock the pool, put actual chlorine on the stains and let it sit and drop the PH to 7.0 and try and scrub the stains. No luck. They seem pretty stubborn. I don't have any stainings on the walls or steps just the bottom of the pool.

IDK... It seems so spread out. I'm NO expert, but this almost seems like it might be a metal staining issue. What kind of water do you have? Are you on a well?

Check out the link below. It will show you how to help identify the stains in your pool. It's a little more complicated because it's in the deep end, but maybe put the puck or crushed up vitamin c pills into an old sock and hold them on the stain using your long brush pole for a bit and then see if it has any effect?

I think there are a couple of things you can do.... try holding crushed vitamin c tablets, a puck and/or dry acid on the stain and see what improves it. You could also take a sample of your water to your local pool store and have them test for metals. Fortunately, those are the only results that the pool store is good for!
